University Foundation Programs - the most popular pathway to Universities
Program:
University foundation programs are developed especially to prepare international students for university undergraduate studies. Forms 5 & 6 students, and Form 7 students who do not possess the required grades for undergraduate entry can apply for university foundation programs. The course length varies from 6 months to 1.5 years to suit the needs of the different student's academic background. Depending on the academic qualifications of a student, foundation programs available include:
Accelerated Program, Standard Program and Extended Program.
Intakes:
There are various intakes throughout the year, depending on which program is most suitable. Most intakes start in February, April, July, September and October. For further details, please consult with AEC on 2598 6166.
Subjects / Curriculum:
- Students usually study 5 to 6 subjects in Foundation Studies.

- HKCEE (Syllabus B) – C to D
- IELTS 5.0 to 6.0
- TOEFL (Computer) 173 to 213
- Internal English Assessment Test
Characteristics:
- University places are guaranteed to students who obtain the university's required score
- Course syllabus is designed by the university for eventual articulation
- University style teaching
- Students do not need to sit for an open examination. The final scores are assessed internally through exams, tests and assignments throughout the course.
- The foundation scores and qualification are recognised by all tertiary institutions throughout Australia
Tuition Fee:
- AUD 9,400 - 19,500 per year
